“Your Passport to Survivorship,” a conference open to survivors, caregivers and staff from all area hospitals, takes place on October 8th from 9:30 am-4:30 pm (registration begins at 8 am). Click here to register.
From October 8-14 shoppers at Providence Place are encourage to sign a Pink Promise card and become educated on tips for breast health. For each Pink Promise signed, Providence Place will donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Signed pledges will be on display at The Pink Promise Zone throughout the week.
Visit Vera Bradley at Providence Place October 9th-18th, purchase the cheery, reusable Eco-Chic Foundation Shopper Tote (in new Twirly Birds Pink) for only $12 (no additional purchase required) and $3 will be donated to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, which concentrates its efforts on supporting cutting-edge breast cancer research. The Second Annual Gloria Gemma 5K Run/Walk/Dog Walk on October 9th at 10am kicks off the 5th Annual Flames of Hope...A Celebration of Life. The run/walk is open to runners, and walkers--leashed dogs welcome!
Join the Gloria Gemma Breat Cancer Resource Foundation on October 9th for the 5th Annual "Flames of Hope™…A Celebration of Life" Event in Providence. The evening festivities begin at 5:30 pm at the RI State House with the enormously uplifting Flames of Hope Torch Parade and the lighting of the RI State House in Pink to celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Women & Infants Hospital will offer a free talk, “Digital Mammograms: Don’t Be Camera Shy!” by Ekaterina Tsiapali, MD, who will discuss digital mammograms, the importance of annual screenings, and the role other diagnostic tools play in early detection of breast cancer at the Women & Infants’ Medical Office Building in East Greenwich on October 19, at 7pm. "Pink In The Rink," a Providence Bruins game on October 29th will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. With each ticket you order, you will also receive a pink t-shirt. All 100 level tickets are $20 and all 200 level tickets are $15 with $5 from every ticket purchased going to the fundraising efforts.
