Blackstone Valley Tech Students win 44 medals in SkillsUSA
Blackstone Valley Tech students showed off their Skills at the SkillsUSA Massachusetts State Leadership and Skills Conference hosted by Blackstone Valley Tech.
Blackstone students competed against nearly 2,000 students in 101 competitions. Of the students competing, 44 students brought home medals, 24 gold, 14 silver and 6 bronze.
The gold medalists from state championship competitions around the country now advance to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on June 17-23, 2017.
The Competition
The competition featured the state’s top career technical education students competing in skill-based challenges designed and judged by panels of industry and trade professionals.
The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring industry leaders, educational administrators, and state legislators who emboldened students to build a bright future for themselves and society.
