Central Mass Colleges Offering Continuing Education this Summer

Assumption College
Assumption College has well respected graduate programs in Business, Counseling Psychology, school counseling, special education and Rehabilitation Counseling. During the summer, courses range from Business Ethics and Labor Relations to Principle Practices of Social Work, Multicultural Issues, and Introduction to Research in Education. The last day to register for Summer Session II is July 2nd. The session runs from July 9th to August 17th. For more information, click here.
Worcester State
Worcester State offers undergraduate and graduate courses, ranging from entry to advanced levels in every academic department. Both online and in-class courses can be taken. The undergraduate courses are good for non-traditional students looking to attain a Bachelor’s Degree on a part-time basis. In addition, a number of graduate programs are available. For those that simply wish to take a couple of courses for their own sake without formal admission to the university, classes taken on a part-time basis are available as well. WPI
WPI offers a number of select courses varied to fit the needs of a wide-range of students. From June 25th to August 27th an Online Calculus Refresher program will be offered to both graduate students and to those who may wish to change careers and need a quick refresher in the subject. Various other Graduate and Undergraduate courses are available to all college-level students. Subject areas are wide-ranging and include the natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, and humanities. Beginning June 25th, both five week and seven week sessions are offered. Clark
Fitchburg State
Fitchburg offers an extensive collection of graduate and continuing education courses during the summer, blanketing nearly all subject areas. The school offers a large number of Certificates of Advanced Graduate Study, and Master’s degrees in Teaching, Biology, History, English, Education and Business Administration among plenty of others. Quinsigamond Community College
Quinsigamond Community College prides itself on being the cheapest and most affordable choice for higher education in Central Mass. During the summer basic courses are offered to help supplement existing skills as well as learn new skills that may be valuable in the workplace. Also, courses are offered to help those that may have not graduated high school but wish to attend college by preparing them for the GED and SAT . Specific services offered include Phlebotomy/EKG training, Nurse assistant/home health aide training, and Microsoft Office 2010 certification. Summer Session II begins July 9th and ends August 14th. Mount Wachusett Community College
Mount Wachusett offers for-credit courses, non-credit community programs, GED and adult education programs, and workforce development and training during the summer months. For adults the subject area of non-credit courses offered ranges from computers to music, to firearms, arts and crafts, and photography. For kids and teenagers, Harry Potter and paranormal themed classes are even offered. Classes begin July 9th and end August 16th. For more information, click here.
