Central Mass. Authors Receive National Acclaim for Inspiring Book
Saturday, June 21, 2014
Tom Ingassia and Jared Chrudimsky – two Holden based authors – placed second in the motivational and personal growth categories for their book titled “One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity and Following Your Dreams.”
“What sets our book apart from so many other motivational books is the fact that, in addition to the inspirational stories, we also included 10 self-assessment tools that readers can use to design their own, personal blueprint for success,” said Chrudimsky. “So the book is a ‘call to action,’ rather than being just a ‘feel good’ book.”
The book captures the inspirational stories of 16 people from all walks of life – including ten from Central Massachusetts – who have overcome many obstacles and adversity to achieve their dreams. The book features first person accounts of survivors and their approaches to living life, sharing their wisdom and experiences first hand.
The two authors second place finish in both categories assures them a Finalist award in the National Indie Excellence® Awards, which is a prestigious award based out of Beverly Hills, California. The awards are open up to all English language books in print from small, medium, university, self, and independent publishers.
All proceeds from the book are being donated to local nonprofit organizations. To date, over $1,000 has been donated to organizations including Angiosarcoma Awareness, Inc., Wesley United Methodist Church, and public libraries in North Brookfield, Southbridge, Hudson, and Middletown, NY.
