Contemporary Theater Company: 30 Plays in 60 Minutes

The frantically funny show was originally started by the Neofuturists theater group in Chicago in 1988, and it is still going, making it the longest-running show in Chicago. It consists of 30 short plays written by the actors that are then performed over an hour according to an order determined by the audience.
The production features a large and rotating cast, including Spencer Curry, Laura Kennedy and Meghan Rose Donnelly of South Kingstown, and Amy Lee Connell (star of the CTC’s “Romeo and Juliet”) and James Foley (star with the improve troupe Bit Players) of Providence.
Laugh, cry, and try to keep it all straight
“This production combines our penchant for artistic innovation with our signature style and energy,” said artistic director Christopher J. Simpson. “It’s the perfect fit for a South Kingstown summer, as the 30 plays are brief, fun and lively.”
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry (mostly laugh), but most of all, you’ll experience a unique and always-changing work of theatrical art. The fun, high-energy show is taking place on July 8, 9, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 at 7 PM, with a 2 PM matinee on July 17. All tickets are $15 except for the Thursday (July 21) show, at which audience members pay what they want and are encouraged to donate whatever amount they are able.
