Craftland Kicks Off Holiday Season

Those who remember that Craftland, the brimming year-round store on Westminster Street in Providence, got its start as a holiday show, will be please to know that the special season is being celebrated in grand fashion.

Craftland kicks off its 9th annual Holiday Show this weekend with thousands of gifts for everyone on your list. Craftland Show features products from 200 artists from around New England and the entire country. And every Saturday, there's free coffee from White Electric.

Thousands of items

Craftland shoppers will find an expanded store filled to the brim with thousands of thoughtfully made items from handmade housewares and masterfully-crafted handbags, to adorable stuffed

animals, cozy crocheted and knitted goods, one-of-a-kind art pieces, beautiful books, clothing, and the increasingly-famous print wall, featuring dozens of screen printed pieces in a variety of prices and sizes. With prices from $1 to $300, there are handmade goodies for every budget.

Special events

This Thursday, December 2nd, don't miss the Craftland Show Super Celebration Bash. First 300 shoppers receive goodie bags stuffed with freebies, coupons and more, plus snacks from Julian's, drinks, and a demo and booksigning by Jennifer Cooke from Raeburn ink! 5-9pm.

Wednesday, December 8th, IDSA RI "Creatives + Cocktails," 6-9pm.

Tuesday, December 14th, Farm Fresh RI "Arts + Eats" 6-9pm ($20 admission).

Thursday, December 16th, Meet the Artists Evening, 5-8pm.

Fun shopping, free parking

As always, purchases from Craftland are tax-free, and parking is easy, with free parking at the Grant’s Block parking lot for two hours free with a validation stamp from Craftland. More parking information can be found online, here.

Craftland Show 2010 runs from November 26 – December 31, 2010 and is open seven days a week 10am - 6pm. The store is open late Thursdays and Saturdays 10am - 8pm. Open 'til midnight Thursday, December 23, along with all Westminster Street shops.
