Friday, December 20, 2013

Check out Jersey Boys, when it comes to the Hanover Theatre from January 21 - February 2, 2014.

How did four blue-collar kids become one of the greatest successes in pop music history? Find out at the runaway smash-hit, Jersey Boys, when it comes to Worcester to the Hanover Theatre from January 21 - February 2, 2014. Winner of the Best Musical Tony Award® on Broadway, in London and Australia, this blockbuster phenomenon takes you behind the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

Jersey Boys chronicles how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. Told onstage, almost as a documentary, with each character getting his say, Jersey Boys gets to the heart of the relationships at the center of the group. There is a special focus on Four Seasons’ frontman Frankie Valli, the little guy with the big falsetto. Come experience all the rivalry, friendship, mafia threats and ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music became symbolic of a generation.

Jersey Boys is an upbeat and fast paced production with a strong emphasis on storytelling which adds to its universal appeal. Featuring Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ own chart-topping songs like "Rag Doll", “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” to name a few. (For those not familiar with The Four Seasons, the group wrote their own songs selling 175 million records worldwide - all before they were 30!) This wonderful, behind the scenes, pop musical wows audiences with music that still endures over four decades later.

Jersey Boys continues to bring countless audiences across the globe to their feet and critics love it. “Too good to be true,” raves Clive Barnes of the New York Post. “The crowd goes wild,” adds the New York Times. “IT WILL RUN FOR CENTURIES,” proclaims Time magazine.
