Dale LePage: On the Downbeat at Union Station Oscars Party
Tuesday, March 04, 2014
On Sunday night the Worcester Film Festival and Luciano’s restaurant joined forces under the directorship of James Lewis to bring you an Oscar party like no other.

Walking into this spectacular venue you were greeted by Oscar winning scores from years gone by, as the ushers clad in their finest attire steered us onto the red carpet to be greeted by the friendly faces at the paparazzi pit, where flashed blubs popped in rapid succession adding yet another element of excitement, or it could have been the start of a seizure from the strob effects.
The space was elegantly appointed and boasted a special Oscar menu, which was delicious. (Yes, I had one of everything). The guests were dressed in fabulous fashions that would have made even Joan Rivers smile.
One of the highlights of the evening was the screening of 3 short films, "The Committee" from Fat Foot Films, "Out Of The Night" from Skip Shea, and "Girls Night Out" from Goldilocks Productions, which were introduced by the hosts of WooTube entertainment television Roberta Mandella and some nerd in fantastic red glasses from Charter TV3.
After a few words of thanks from event host James Lewis and a wave from a woman with the worst case of Jaundice I have ever seen (thank you, Georgia Ito, for dressing up as Oscar), the large screen was lit up with the 86th Academy Awards telecast backed by resounding applause from the eager crowd.
