It's the competition that's stinkier than the exhaust fumes at the Daytona 500, more graceful than the swiftest competitor in the Belmont Stakes, and more adorable than, well, just about anything. Ladies and gentleman, start your babies: it's the one and only annual Diaper Derby.
This Saturday March 8th from 10am to 1pm, the Auburn Mall will host the event, hosted by the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition Program and Bay State Parent Magazine.
Participants must be crawlers (non-walkers) under 12 months of age. Preregistration is encouraged (only the first 36 babies will be eligible to participate). To register, visit the Guest Services booth in the mall's Center Court.
Participating babies will check in the day of the event at the registration table on Level 1 in the Macy's Home Court. The first 100 families to register at the event will receive a goody bag, while supplies last.
Parents are invited to bring their kids for a day of fun, even if their infant isn't an aspiring Michael Johnson. In addition to the race, the event will feature text-to-win giveaways from Kids Power Gymnastics, a Kids Fashion Show presented by Crazy8, and tables featuring crafts, activities and coloring. Saturday will be a gala of sport and spectacle that is not to be missed.
