DON’T MISS: QCC Theatre Club’s ‘Lend Me A Tenor’ April 16-19

Wednesday, April 09, 2014

The Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) Theatre Club will present the Ken Ludwig play, Lend Me A Tenor, from April 16th through 19th, 2014 at 7 PM

Lend Me A Tenor is a three-time Tony Award winner and has won four Drama Desk Awards.

QCC’s production is directed by English faculty member, John Deedy and the cast includes the following students:

  • Mitchell Leblanc (Max) from Marlborough
  • Kayla Bennett (Maggie) from Grafton
  • Tanner Gagnon (Saunders) from Worcester
  • Kieran Gilman (Tito Merelli) from Leominster
  • Michaela Buckley (Maria) from Worcester
  • Miguel Ramirez (Bellhop) from Worcester
  • Jacqueline Krause (Diana) from Northborough
  • Janay Bull (Julia) from Worcester

The play’s action centers around a world-famous tenor, Tito Merelli, set to perform Otello at the Cleveland Opera Company. Through a series of mishaps, Tito receives a double dose of tranquilizers, causing the house manager to believe he is dead, setting off a chain reaction of slapstick and mistaken identity.

QCC recently announced a renewed commitment to arts education with plans to implement a Visual and Performing Arts program. Theatre education is just one of the genres being developed for inclusion in the program’s curriculum; classes will be offered for the fall 2014 semester with the goal to launch a full Visual and Performing Arts Program by 2016.

The play will be staged at the Hebert Auditorium on West Boylston Street. Tickets are available at the door for $5. An American Sign Language interpreted performance is scheduled for Thursday, April 17.
