Frank Viele to Support Matthew Mayfield at Tammany Hall
Wednesday, September 04, 2013
Frank Viele, one of New England's favorite live performers, will be performing solo acoustic at Worcester’s Tammany Hall this Thursday, September 5, as support for singer/songwriter Matthew Mayfield. Tickets are $8 in advance, and $10 day of show.
Frank is acoustic funk, electrified with a shot of pop, rock, and soul; add rhythm and blues for a chaser. A musical storyteller in the independent rock genre, Frank crafts dry wit with a soulful touch. The singer/songwriter’s sound is cemented together by a solid blues foundation and his stylistically-aware approach is evident in his singing and guitar playing.
Frank’s musical roots began in New England, and his art has continued to expand from there. This past year, Frank was nominated as Best Live Act in the New England Music Awards. On his most recent tour he supported the Marshall Tucker Band, and he is fresh off of a performance with Blues Traveler, having entertained a sold-out crowd of 10,000 fans.
This Tammany Hall appearance offers a unique opportunity to purchase Frank’s Monsters EP. The recent release, containing tracks off of Frank’s upcoming Fall Your Way album, is only available for a limited time at select live shows. The EP features guests including a rhythm section made up of Kung Fu members Tim Palmieri and Chris DeAngelis, and horn player Bill Holloman (Niles Rodgers, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John).
