Fruitlands Museum Hosts Basket Weekend Oct. 24th, 25th
Thursday, October 15, 2015
The weekend includes activities such as exploring baskets and basket weaving, weaving demonstrations, basket making crafts for children, guided tours of the National Basket Organization annual exhibition, a basket bombing workshop and more.
“We look forward to welcoming the community to Fruitlands for ‘Basket Weekend,’ a chance to marvel at, and learn about, the amazing tradition of basket making. We invite visitors of all ages to participate in our hands-on workshops, watch demonstrations with master craftsmen, and to be inspired by All Things Considered VIII, our fall exhibition emphasizing work by basket makers who are pushing the boundaries of traditional basket making," said Wyona Lynch-McWhite, Executive Director of Fruitlands.
