Fruitlands Museum Offering Valentine’s Day Events
Thursday, February 05, 2015
Looking for proof that you love is timeless? On Saturday, February 14 a centennial performance of "Valentine's Day with the Wheelers" will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Tea Room. Adults ages 21 and over are invited to experience the love story of Jonathan Dodge Wheeler and Elisabeth Davenport, as told through their 19th century courtship letters. Students from Bromfield High School will theatrically recount the ups and downs of the couple's relationship while you enjoy some Valentine's desserts and wine.
Need something to do with the kids over February break? Take them to the Family Discovery Days, open February 16-20 from 12-4 p.m. Come explore the Wayside Visitors Center and Art Gallery with your children, and engage in some of the themed activities. There will be picture book readings, arts and craft, and games - oh my!
Still haven't had enough of Fruitlands Museum? Don't worry - there are plenty more activities throughout the month. If you want to take advantage of the snowy scenery, there is a winter scavenger hunt, snowshoeing clinic, and winter hiking clinic. There are also WinterFest Weekends, which offer a whole host of snow-filled family activities. If you prefer to stay out of the cold this February, the museum will be showing the film, Cherokee Word for Water, on February 18, and it will also offer a tour of the exhibition, 100 Objects, 100 Stories, 100 Years at Fruitlands Museum on February 28.
