Gallery at Briarwood to Host 3rd Public Art Exhibit Starting in May
Monday, April 25, 2016
The Exhibit
Worcester Plein Air Painters was launched as a group in an exhibit at the Bijou Theater in Worcester Center in June of 2003. Leading up to that, members had sent years painting together and the group had been part of the Worcester State Life Drawing sessions and some are part of the Princeton Portrait Group.
The group is structured loosely and is tied together by the desire to "capture the light on a particular day in a specific location at certain hours during the day."
Artists featured in the exhibit include Robert Aiello, Worcester; Emilie Astell, Holden; Sharon Bahosh, Lancaster; Eleanor Beatty, Worcester; Bruce Dean, Princeton; Sam Lalos, Worcester; Jean Murphy, Southbridge; Joanne Quinn, Princeton; Linda Sinacola, Sutton, and Sid Solomon, Worcester.
The exhibit will also include paintings by Bob Duffy of Worcester as a tribute to him, he died last year.
Other Exhibits
Other exhibits that Briarwood will be hosting include outdoor painters; July: Sid Solomon, watercolor painter; September: Barbara Brosnihan, painter and teacher; and November: WWI Poster exhibit presented by Briarwood resident, Gordon, Lankton.
