GETTING OUT: Best St. Patrick’s Day Events in Central Mass

St. Patrick's Day weekend is here and that means, once again, everyone gets to be a little Irish for a few days. As usual there are plenty of pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants in Central Mass prepared to honor the raucous day with plenty of fun festivities including great drinks, food, music, games and more. Here are just a few you should definitely check out. Make sure to wear your best green!

London Billiards/Club Oasis
70 James Street, Worcester
With coupons, London Billiards will offer $8/hr/table regardless of number of people per table during this weekend after 9 PM. For 6 pm to 9 pm, it will be $6/hr/table ( The normal weekend rate is $12/hr/table.) $2 shots will also be offered as specials. In addition, starting at 9 pm on Saturday, the bands Altic with special guests Bad Intentions will be giving special St. Paddy's day performances.

Tweed's Pub and Restaurant
229 Grove Street, Worcester
Tweed's will be serving corned beef and cabbage, Guinness battered fish and chips as well as other Irish specialties on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. They will also have Irish music, balloons and they are absolutely sure that the Pub will be filled, overflowing even, with Worcester folks celebrating the holiday, saying, predictably it's one busiest days of the year. This authentic establishment always celebrate the "Wearing of the green" in fine fashion.

Celtic Tavern
45 Belmont Street, Northborough
The Celtic Tavern has had a full week of St. Paddy's Day festivities that are culminating this Sunday. There will be live music all day starting with Jon Bonner (a musician that has been featured at GoLocal in the past) and ending with the Wild Irish Rovers. Irish favorites like Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepard's Pie, Beef Stew and Irish Soda Bread is being served. The Tavern is open at 10 am for breakfast and serving food until 11 pm. In addition, and perhaps most importantly for many, the alcohol starts flowing at 11 am sharp.

O'Connor's Restaurant and Bar
1160 West Boylston Street, Worcester
Combine an Irish or otherwise European meal with a selection from one of the best local beer menus around at this casual but, most importantly, authentically Irish restaurant and bar. Stop by for a special St. Paddy's Day dinner from 10 am-11 pm. If you want to throw your own party, there are plenty are private rooms available for reservation. Pick up some great souvenirs so you will always remember your experience.

Beemer's Pub
114 River Street, Fitchburg
Beemer's in Fitchburg is holding there St. Patrick's Day celebration/bash on Saturday. A corned beef dinner will be being served all day. Special green beer will be on tap. In addition, take advantage of $5 pitchers ($2.50 for 16 OZ) of Rolling Rock and take in the sweet sounds of DJ's Ricksta and Darin Boisvert.

Nick's Bar and Restaurant
124 Millbury Street, Worcester
Nick's is throwing a party full of beer and music sponsored by everyone's favorite Irish beer, Guinness! The Blackstone Cuil will be performing from 2 pm- 5pm on Sunday, and then Andy Cummings will play a set at 8:30.
