Girls Inc. to Host College Shower for 20 Graduating High School Girls

Saturday, June 11, 2016

Girls Inc. of Worcester will hold a college shower for 20 college found Worcester high school senior girls on Thursday, June 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Alden Hall, 125 Providence Street. The girls will receive college supplies from generous donations from EMC employees, Hasbro, and many individuals.

"In most traditions, females get honored and “showered” with gifts to offset the expenses incurred from starting a new life as a mom or wife. At Girls Inc., we believe that graduating from high school and furthering education are reasons to celebrate and so we honor and “shower” our high school grads," said Girls Inc.

This year, the 20 graduating seniors are from the Worcester high schools of Abby Kelley Foster Charter School, Burncoat, and Doherty.

"We will be rewarding our graduates with gifts and accolades in recognition of their determination, commitment to academic excellence and strong work ethic. Each young woman will be presented with a Kindle Fire along with other college essentials to help her in achieving success during her first year of college," said Girls Inc. in their press release.

The graduates family, friends, and supporters will celebrate their achievements and sport them as they prove that they are strong, smart and bold.
