The Movie ‘Grace’ Being Filmed in Worcester

Monday, May 07, 2012

Moody Independent at work filming the movie, Grace.

Lights, cameras, and Hollywood actors filled a portion of Maywood Street in Worcester Saturday afternoon as Boston based production company, Moody Independent, went to work filming Grace. The movie's plot involves a high school senior named Grace who is facing a prison sentence after a drunk driving accident that killed her best friend. Kelcie Stranahan, who has appeared in "Without a Trace" plays the title role.

According to crew members who were on the scene, the movie has been slated for Lifetime. Local talent and extras including students from nearby Clark University were involved with the production.

Clark student, Gwen Walsh, who lives directly adjacent to the scene being filmed on Sunday was in disbelief about the scene from her front porch. "It's very strange to see actresses walking down the street being paid to look like Clark students. I wouldn't have known the difference if the camera crews weren't there."

The film is being directed by John Stimpson (The Legend of Lucy Keyes, A Christmas Kiss, Sexting in Suburbia), and is being shot in the area through May 12th.
