Knight at Higgins Armory
Higgins Armory Museum will host a public liquidation auction of non-collection items on Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m.
Auction items
“Obviously the most prized pieces in our museum have found a new home at the Worcester Art Museum,” says Suzanne Maas, interim director at Higgins. “What remains are a number of non-collection items that have great value to many people. Some are related to arms and armor, while others are simply practical pieces that may be put to good use elsewhere. However, all have a unique history in that they were once a part of the Higgins Armory Museum.”
Candelabras, antique furniture, library and retail displays, replica suits of armor, period costumes, office electronics, metal and glass display casings, and building maintenance equipment are some of the items up for sale.
Southborough-based Bottom Line Exchange Co., Inc. will manage the liquidation auction.
Sale preview
A sale preview will take place on Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will also be a brief preview on the day of the sale from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
To participate in the auction, a $200 cash deposit is required to secure a bidder card. The deposit will be applied to any purchases made or refunded in full if no purchases are made. There will be a 15 percent buyer’s premium on all items and purchases can be paid for with cash, Mastercard or Visa.
