Holy Name High School Starts Fundraising Campaign for New Theater Seating

Monday, March 16, 2015

Holy Name High School in Worcester has started a fundraising campaign to install new seating and new carpeting in their performing arts theater. The HN Theater, known for its excellent student performances, has rededicated itself to providing the best performing arts program in Central Massachusetts.

"We have increased the personnel in the music and theatre programs and have hired directors who have renewed the enthusiasm and joy in these departments. We have installed a new lighting system in the auditorium and are upgrading the sound system. We have painted and added new curtains and we have cleared out the backstage area to increase access and use of backdrops. We have added Dance to our curriculum and have reinvented the Christmas and Spring Concerts to incorporate this art form," said Edward Reynolds, Holy Name Headmaster.

As part of its "Set the Stage" fundraising campaign, Holy Name is offering donation tiers that guarantees contributors of $400 or more will get their name on a seat arm and guaranteed seat for all events.

Holy Name's goal is to raise $175,000 to replace the 550 seats in the theater. The current seats are over 30 years old.

Part of the fundraising campaign is an event at Holy Name on May 30. The fundraising kick-off celebration will feature music from Dan Gabel and the Abletones.
