Nationally Syndicated Radio Host to Speak at Anna Maria

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Patrick Coffin, host of Catholic Answers Live

One of the most influential Catholic speakers in the country will visit Anna Maria this Thursday.

Patrick Coffin, host of Catholic Answers Live and Program Director for Catholic Answers radio will speak to students and anyone else in attendance at 7 pm on the campus of Anna Maria College. The event is presented by Emmanuel Radio 1230AM, which carries Coffin's nationally syndicated show here in Worcester.

"The phone has not stopped ringing at Emmanuel Radio for tickets to this Patrick Coffin event because Patrick Coffin has a strong listening audience on WNEB 1230AM in Worcester, and Emmanuel Radio has established a loyal listener base since launching the station in Worcester in May 2011," Emmanuel Radio General Manager Cindy Dorsey said. "This is all very exciting for the wonderful and faithful people of the Worcester Diocese."

Coffin's Catholic Answers Live was voted best Catholic radio show in America last year on About.com and his book, "Sex Au Naturel" presents his defense of the Catholic Church's position against contraceptives. Coffin is considered a strong and passionate "apologetic" thinker and defender of the Church.

Coffin has appeared on Fox News, Comedy Central and countless other radio and television programs. Catholics and non-Catholics alike are welcome for Coffin's discussion about the value of Catholic radio, the year of faith, and an introduction to apologetics.

Coffin will also field questions from the audience on a wide range of issues.

"Patrick is a dynamic speaker, author and radio show host and welcomes the opportunity to interact with local Catholics and non-Catholics alike," Dorsey said. "His fans are anxious to ask Mr. Coffin questions of their own, up front and personal, in a hometown setting. We feel very fortunate that Anna Maria College and President Dr. Jack Calareso are kindly hosting the event with Emmanuel Radio this week."

Those interested in attending can contact Emmanuel Radio for tickets at 508-767-1230. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For more information on Coffin, you can check out his popular Catholic blog here.
