NEW: Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra Set for Holiday Concert
Friday, November 16, 2012
The show will take place inside the Grand Ballroom of the Milford Town Hall in downtown Milford. The Claflin Hill Symphony is the region's most prominent and prolific orchestra, and has earned the praise of WGBH Music Commentator Ron Della.
"(CHSO is) one of the finest regional orchestras in the country," Della said. "Bar none!"
Hosted by CHSO Director MacEwen Krafka and CHSO Founder Paul Surapine, Holiday Pops is a 2-3 hour celebration of perennial seasonal favorites and selections. Songs like Leroy Anderson’s “Sleighride”, Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus," and the Mannheim Steamroller arrangement of “Silent Night” are all featured.
As is his tradition every year, the CHSO Holiday Pops receives a visit from Santa Claus, who stops in midway through the concert and visits with his friends and fans during intermission.
Holiday Pops is sponsored in part by The Milford Federal Savings and Loan Association.
Ticket prices for Holiday Pops range from $39 - $29 and are available online by visiting the Claflin Hill website here.
