NEW: Pakachoag Music School to Host Free Classical Music Concert

The Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester has announced that faculty members and esteemed musicians Maxin Korn (violin) and Vladimir Odinokikh (piano) will perform a selection of works from César Franck and Johannes Brahms at the upcoming free concert of “Shifting Seasons: The Colors and Moods of Debussy, Franck and Brahmns” on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Great Hall at Pakachoag.

The Performers

Dr. Maxim Korn holds a Doctoral degree from the Glinka State Conservatory in Novosibirsk, Russia. He completed additional studies at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow specializing in chamber music. Maxim began his distinguished teaching career in 1965 in Novosibirsk where he was a Professor of Music in the Glinka State Conservatory and Novosibirsk Music College. He also served as first violinist in the Glinka State Conservatory String Quartet for 25 years.

In 1990, Dr. Korn immigrated to Israel where he continued teaching and performing as a soloist, member of chamber ensembles, symphony and chamber orchestras. In 1999, he moved to the US and continued his performing and teaching career. Maxim retired from Pakachoag in 2010, but continues to share his music with Pakachoag audiences.

Vladimir Odinokikh holds degrees in piano performance from Russia's esteemed Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Gnessin Institute of Moscow. A prize winner in the Russia National Competition and the Chamber Music Competition of Soviet Composers, Vladimir has concertized in some of the major concert halls of Europe, South America and the United States and appeared on various national radio programs in Mexico, the former USSR and the US. He has taught at the conservatory level in Moscow and Mexico.

A number of Vladimir's students have gone on to major in music; two of his former students are winners of major competitions. He continues to share his love of piano, first discovered at the age of 4, with students of all ages as a faculty member at Pakachoag and via his private studio in Keene, NH.
