Newport’s Forty-One North Raises $10K for Boys and Girls Club

Saturday, June 18, 2011

It's one thing to make a splash on the travel and culinary scene in one year. It's another to raise $10,000 at the same time for a local charity.

This is just what Forty One North, Newport's waterfront boutique hotel has done, and celebrated that achievement with friends and families this week with a waterfront barbecue party.

The hotel hosted children from the Boys & Girls Club of Newport along with their parents and executives of Share Our Strength, the hunger relief organization, and executives and representatives from the Rhode Island Food Bank. The 28-room and cottage boutique hotel raised over $10,000 for Share Our Strength, which in conjunction with the RI Food Bank was used to provide after school meals to the Boys & Girls Club of Newport. Attendees enjoyed summer fare on the waterside deck prepared by the hotel’s award winning Chef Kim Lambrechts as well as activities including face painting and arts & crafts.
