Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School Accepting Student Applications

Tuesday, December 22, 2015

The Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School is now accepting applications from students entering grades K-2 for its inaugural year. The year is tentatively set to begin in the fall of 2016. The opening of the school is pending an approval hearing in February.

"We are excited for the opportunity to share our incredible educational resources with young students. Supporting the community with this program will provide each student with an unparalleled, life-impacting experience that will give a solid foundation for their educational development, and unprecedented access to the objects and historians that reveal the stories of early American history. We believe all students deserve the best education available, regardless of race, religion or zip code," said James Donahue, President and CEO of the museum.

Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School, if opened, will provide Kindergarten through second grade instruction in its first year, expanding a grade level every year until it reaches the 8th grade by 2022.

Enrollment in the school is open to all residents of Massachusetts, however priority is given to those that live in the 15 towns that comprise the local district.

There are no academic requirements for admission and no fee to apply. Selection is based on a lottery that will be held on March 5th.

Click here to download an application.

All applications must be completed and turned in by Friday, March 4th at 5 p.m.
