Organize + Energize: Quick and Easy Way to Sell Your Clothes Online
Tuesday, December 23, 2014
A few years ago, I was thumbing through InStyle magazine and I saw an article about selling clothes online. After over 18 years of selling my clothes at consignment stores, this article peaked my interest. They mentioned the website liketwice.com. I had to check this out to see what it was all about. The process sounded very simple, almost too good to be true. I’m sure there are other online sites out there, but this was the one that found me. I didn’t have to search aimlessly online looking for a reputable one.
Over the years, I got tired of waiting for it to be the right season to bring clothes to the consignment shop. The wait time to even get an appointment was frustrating. Also, I didn’t want to have clothes taking up space in my home while I was waiting for an appointment to bring them in. I wanted them out of the house.
At the change of every season, I go through every piece of clothing I own. Before the seasons changed, I went over to liketwice.com because I wanted to be prepared for when I decluttered and reorganized my closet. The process can’t get any easier than this:
Go to the website. Get familiar with the website. Check out which brands they take and which ones they don’t. Create an account for yourself and then head over to the sell tab. You can either opt for a prepaid selling kit or a printed label. I always opt for the prepaid selling kit. With the prepaid selling kit, they will send you a bag and a postage paid label affixed to the bag.
You’ll receive your bag. Your prepaid selling kit will arrive. All you have to do is fill the bag, seal it and drop it off at the post office. Everything is paid for. Yes, it’s that simple.
They will make you an offer. Once your items have been received, you’ll get an email stating the amount of money they will pay you for your clothes. You can either opt for a check or get a credit to purchase items on their website. I’ve always taken the check and I’ve always been happy with the payout.
Accept the offer. All you have to do is accept the offer and your check will be in the mail to you very soon.
You can’t get any easier than this. You can send any type of clothes regardless of the season; they just have to be clean, in current fashion and good condition. You’ll no longer have to hold onto clothes waiting for your appointment at the consignment shop and you’ll save a trip. Also, how long do you usually wait for your check from the consignment store? You’ll have a check in your hand in a few weeks from liketwice.com.
I’m not getting any perks from liketwice.com to write this article. I love this process so much that I had to share it with you. I’ve shared it with my clients and it’s just the most efficient and productive way to make money on clothes you no longer want to keep. If you use this service, email me and let me know how it worked for you.
