Over $75,000 in Grants Given to Worcester Artists

Worcester Arts Council (WAC) is awarding a total of $77,720 in grants for Worcester art projects.

This comes as a part of the Council’s 2012 granting cycle. The money will go to 43 different artists, organizations and educational institutions in the area. This year’s allocation includes two Artist Fellowship Grants worth $4,000 each, given to individual artists to assist in the funding of their artistic endeavors.

The Fellowship Grants were awarded to film director/producer T. Lashay Parham and photographer Louie Despres. The WAC will hold a reception to honor all 43 of the awardees today from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm in Fletcher Hall of the Worcester Historical Museum. The reception is free and open to the public.
