Paramore Latest Act Scheduled for Worcester’s DCU Center This Fall

Monday, July 29, 2013

Paramore will be rocking the newly-renovated DCU Center on November 15th.

Paramore will hit the road this fall for a full-scale North American trek, and one of their key stops will be at the DCU Center in Worcester. The concert will take place on Friday, November 15th.

The alternative rock group’s “The Self-Titled Tour” will visit arenas and amphitheaters across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to a stop at the SMG-managed DCU Center, they will also visit New York’s Madison Square Garden for the first time as well as the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans.

The tour, which comes in support of the band’s chart-topping eponymously-titled new album, will start Oct. 15 at Seattle’s KeyArena and wraps Nov. 26 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Canadian alt-rock outfit Metric and indie pop group Hellogoodbye will open for Paramore at the DCU.

Paramore nabbed its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in April, beating the trio, opening with 106,000 first-week sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The band is booked to perform “Still Into You” as part of their first-ever live appearance on FOX’s Aug. 11 awards show Teen Choice 2013, where they are up for multiple categories.

DCU Renovations Continue

After more than 30 years of successful operation, the DCU Center is currently undergoing a $23 Million Renovation and Expansion project. Funded by the City of Worcester, construction is taking place over the course of a five-month period, May 1 – October 1, 2013, during which time the Arena is closed. Elements of the new design incorporate upgrades to both the interior and exterior of the facility. Plans include a new façade, digital marquee, a landscaped promenade/entrance, redesigned box office pavilion, an expanded concourse, indoor/outdoor retail space and a new concourse-level bar/club area.

Other bands set to perform this Fall include Pearl Jam and Phish.

Tickets are on sale now the DCU Center Box Office, Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online at ticketmaster.com. They range in price from $49.50 to $29.50. The concert begins at the 7:30 PM. For more information please visit http://www.dcucenter.com/.
