RI 48 Hour Film Festival Winners Announced

If you competed in the Rhode Island Film Collaborative's time-pressured, high-yield 48 Hour Film Project, you squeezed every bit of visual creativity out of those hours. At the beginning of a weekend in July, you got a character, a prop, a line of dialogue, and a genre. By the end of the weekend you came up with a film.
Now, the RIFC has announced the winners of this year's competition. And they are:
Best Film: "Neighbors" by the soft fluffies
1st Runner-Up: "E.D.S." by They're Using Tools!
2nd Runner-Up: "Killer" by Wax Idiotical Films
Best Directing: Trevor Holden & Jason Rossi for "Neighbors" by the soft fluffies
Best Writing: "The Jesse Chronicles" by Harcourt Pictures
Best Editing: Nick Pasquirillo for "E.D.S." by They're Using Tools!
Best Individual Acting: Mark Marshall for "Killer" by Wax Idiotical Films
Best Ensemble Acting: "The Lip Dub" by 7 Around 2 Wrapped by 1
Best Cinematography: tie - Nick Pasquirillo for"E.D.S" by They're Using Tools! /// Trevor Holden & Jason Rossi for"Neighbors" by the soft fluffies
Best Sound Design: Rob Pierce for "The Headliner" by Stand Up Films
Best Use of Character (Alan/Alana Sarmast, next door neighbor): "Neighbors" by the soft fluffies
Best Use of Prop (a newspaper): "The Jesse Chronicles" by Harcourt Pictures
Best Use of Line of Dialogue ("What are you working on?" or "Whatcha working on?"): "Killer" by Wax Idiotical Films
Best Use of Genre: "Wasting Time" by 80 Nights Productions
Best Graphics: Tommy Feliciano for "The Healer" by Open Door Productions
Best Special Effects: Atomicsteve! for "Duck Running" by Atomicons
Best Musical Score: Nate Goncalo & Matthew Messier for "Today's The Day/You're Going To Die" by BIG Productions
Best Choreography: Alayna G. Martin for "The Lip Dub" by 7 Around 2 Wrapped by 1
Best Costumes & Make-up: for "Junction Valley" by Cut to the Chase Productions
Best Art Direction: for "Junction Valley" by Cut to the Chase Productions
Best Use of Locations: "Junction Valley" by Cut to the Chase Productions
Audience Award - Screening A: "Killer" by Wax Idiotical Films
Audience Award - Screening B: "Duck Running" by Atomicons
Audience Award - Screening C: "Goober Smoocher" by Stand Still Pictures
Audience Award - Screening D: "The Lip Dub" by 7 Around 2 Wrapped by 1
Audience Award - Screening E: "The Best Birthday Ever" by Y2Kevin Productions
For those who weren't smart enough to see the July screenings of these remarkable competitors, check out 48 Days Later, an event unique to Providence among the 48 Hour Film Project cities nationwide. On Sunday, September 25, The Spot Underground will screen refinished submissions. 7pm, suggested donation $5. 15 Elbow Street, Providence.
