RI Film Collaborative’s Black and White in Space Bash

Thursday, November 25, 2010

The Rhode Island Film Collaborative is taking its annual holiday party stellar this year, with the theme of black and white... in space.

And the star of the night will be Herb Weiss, the Economic and Cultural Affairs Officer for the City of Pawtucket, for his contributions to independent filmmakers and their pursuit of independent film. Weiss is widely known for the enthusiasm and comprehensive support both he and the City of Pawtucket have given to artistic projects happening locally. He is also the Chair of the Pawtucket Arts Festival.

Organizers predict an evening full of surprises, including door prizes, raffle prizes, giant snowmen, random aliens, ongoing footage from classic space films, games, a great DJ, dancing, and cameo appearances from folks like Steven Feinberg from the RI Film and TV Office.

Come in black and white party wear, or even a space outfit. The Premier Party from 6-8pm features excellent food, champagne and open-bar with beer, wine and alien drinks, as well as entertainment. Tickets are $100, or $150 for two.

After 8 the event is open to all, with snacks and a cash bar, as well more raffles and entertainment, including an appearance by the aliens from Big Nazo. It's open to all, but we do suggest a donation of $10 if you are able.

Saturday, December 4th at Kay Studios, 66 Valley St, East Providence. Tickets are available in advance through the Web site.
