Artist, graphic designer, illustrator and
RISD alum, Shepard Fairey, best known for his ubiquitous "Hope" poster of President Barak Obama in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, has partnered with
SHFT to create a decidedly hip sustainable water bottle. SHFT is a new media platform that curates the myriad sustainable choices now available, highlighting the cultural shift taking place worldwide. The movement was founded by actor and activist Adrian Grenier (star of HBO’s
Entourage), film producer Peter Glatzer, and sustainability expert Lauren Gropper.
Global Impact
Fairey's LA-based Studio No. 1 designed the "Fill. Drink. Repeat." artwork on the stainless steel bottle, with 10% of proceeds going directly to water.org while reducing the 38 billion empty water bottles that find their way to American landfills each year. Water.org, co-founded by actor Matt Damon and Gary White, is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization committed to providing safe drinking water and sanitation to people in developing countries. SHFT's Klean Kanteen® water bottle is availble for sale online.
