The Price is Right Hits the Hanover Theatre

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

You don't have to travel to Hollywood to participate in what TV Guide has called "The Greatest Game Show of All Time" because The Price is Right Live is coming to Worcester.

The Hanover Theatre will play host to the event tonight (Tuesday), and contestants will play for the chance to win up to $25,000 in prizes. Todd Newton, the host of Family Game Night on Hub Network, will step into the host spot famously held by Bob Barker for other 30 years, and now Drew Carey.

Audience members will have the chance to "come on down" after registering to be a contestant up to three hours before the show's 7 pm start time. Contestants will be selected at random, and each participant will at least walk away with a consolation prize for participating.

"Everyone at the theatre is gearing up for a fun evening full of audience interaction," said Lisa Condit, The Hanover Theatre's Director of Marketing and Public Relations.  "The popularity of The Price is Right Live is astounding, and we are so pleased that we are able to transform what people think of as a passive experience in their living rooms to an active theatre event. There is literally something for everyone here at The Hanover Theatre, complete with 30 individual prizes for the contestants from 18 of our WOO partners."

Up to this point, The Price is Right Live has been playing to near sold out audiences for six straight years, and has given away over $10 million in cash and prizes.

To play, simply register at the Hanover Theatre box office today after 4 pm. Buying a ticket will not increase your chance of being selected, but if you are not chosen, you will need a ticket to watch the show. Participation is open to US legal residents 18 years of age or older.

Full price tickets are $26 and $36, depending on seat location. You can receive a 10 percent discount if you are a theatre member, have a WOO Card, or are a part of a group of 10 or more people.
