Tower Hill Fall Orchard Tasting

Tower Hill Botanic Garden will host their Season of Harvest event from September 20-21. The weekend will focus on Flowers and Gardens.

Scheduled activities

Saturday will include a Gardener’s Emporium. At this event, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with more than a dozen vendors offering fall plants, garden supplies, and decorative garden sculptures and ornaments.

The Begonia and Gesneriad Show will run from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday with hundreds of plants to see and purchase. There will be a presentation for beginners looking for tips for caring for these houseplants and a library exhibit about them showcasing rare books and historic illustrations. The show continues on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a workshop for children interested in becoming Gesneriad growers.

Children can attend a fairy garden workshop on Saturday, and on both days participate in fall crafts, including a flower and leaf press workshop. Tower Hill also has a large network of trails, fountains, sculptures, gardens, a wildlife pond, and views of Mt. Wachusett for children to explore.

On Sunday, learn how to scout the woods in search of edible mushrooms or take a guided tour of the Tower Hill gardens.

Throughout the weekend, and every weekend through October, Tower Hill will be showcasing its heirloom apple collection with tastings, tours, and a library presentation and exhibit on the rich history of the orchard.
