The website's female membership has ballooned since the release of the "50 Shades" series, which focuses on the love lives of Christian Grey, a dominating wealthy man, and Anastasia Steele, a submissive young girl.
Founder and CEO Brandon Wade has already told GoLocalWorcester that Massachusetts is a hot bed for Sugar Daddies, and now he says that the "Fifty Shades" series is directing Central Mass women to his website.
“People who have read Fifty Shades of Grey are often surprised to find out that a website already exists for those seeking a Fifty Shades inspired arrangement,” Wade said. “Since the Fifty Shades trilogy made the New York Times Bestseller list, the number of women joining Seeking Arrangement to find their own ‘Christian Grey’ has ballooned to over 186,000 worldwide.”
The numbers certainly prove Wade's point.
Out of SeekingArrangement.com's 1.6 million profiles, 28,382 mention "Fifty Shades," 23,102 mention Christian Grey, and 18,281 mention Anastasia Steele. Furthermore, a survey of members revealed that 79 percent of women like the idea of succumbing to a "dominant" male like Grey, while 90 percent of men find the idea of a "submissive" Steele exciting.
“Fifty Shades of Grey is a sugar daddy meet sugar baby story based on money, power and sex," Wade said. "Most women love the Cinderella story where a young girl is swept off her feet by a rich, powerful and handsome man. This is the reason why so many women are looking to turn this fantasy into reality.”
