Wheelock@Worcester Moves on Campus

Monday, June 16, 2014

Wheelock College's Master of Social Work program is moving on campus next school year.  The Wheelock@Worcester program will move onto the campus of Anna Maria College in Paxton.

“The students will benefit from campus features like the food service, the ability to print and photocopy easily, and the college atmosphere”, said Program Coordinator Jim Bourque. “Especially important is quick access to the college library and its many resources.”

A statement from the college listed added benefits of moving the program on campus, including "access to AMC's centrally located Communications Connection, which includes a computer center, student lounge, and meeting space. Additionally, the new classrooms are close together to allow for the continued flow of information and conversation before and after class and during breaks. Plus, a fully equipped office is available before and during class time and on weekends for one-on-one meetings between students and field staff and advisors."

The Master of Social Work program is a 60-credit program that most students take part-time over 3 years.

According to the college's statement, the program is "designed for those working for social service agencies, community health or education settings, advocacy organizations, or career-changers committed to effecting change in the social conditions and well-being of diverse groups of individuals, children, and families."

Classes are scheduled to begin in September.
