Steve Cadwell will star in "Wild and Precious" on Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. in the Worcester Historical Museum’s Fletcher Auditorium.
"Wild and Precious", a one-man show, is sponsored by the Worcester Historical Museum, Airspray, and Worcester Pride.
LGBTQ Pride and the Stonewall Riots
The production is held in conjunction with LGBTQ pride month. The play is also to honor the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which set in motion the Gay Rights movement.
“We’re so honored to bring Wild and Precious to Worcester in collaboration with WHM and Worcester Pride,” said Airspray co-founder Ashley Emerson Gilbert. Wild and Precious chronicles landmark moments in the Gay Rights movement, from Stonewall to the victory for marriage equality in the State of Massachusetts in 2004, through the experiences of one man. “An individual’s perspective is often employed to understand the context of larger historical events. In many ways Wild and Precious is part of the oral history tradition, but with greater dramatic flair,” said Chad Sirois, communications manager for WHM, when asked about the Museum’s participation in this event.
A multimedia event
"Wild and Precious" is a multimedia performance and features costumes, dance, poetry, songs, and stories as it celebrates the personal resilience of a gay man’s journey through sexual awakening, mental breakdown, and personal acceptance. This performance is free and open to the public.

The
Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2013 rating of LGBT friendliness by America’s largest companies is ranked on a scale from 0 to 100, based on whether or not the firms have policies that support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. These include anti-discrimination protections, domestic-partner benefits, diversity training and transgender-inclusive benefits.
The Foundation provides an estimated score to businesses that have not, after repeated attempts, responded to the survey. An estimated score is reflective of the information that the Foundation has been able to collect without help or input from a business.
The Foundation researches policies at more than 1,800 companies (including the Fortune 1000 and American Lawyer 200). However, it does not provide a business with an official score until it has collected and verified all the information that it needs. In all, the Foundations officially rates 688 companies in its
Corporate Equality Index.
Any business with 500 or more U.S. employees can be rated. If you don’t see a company listed in the Foundations’ CEI, contact the Foundation with any information you have about its policies on LGBT issues. Or, contact and motivate businesses to participate by letting them know that you make purchasing decisions based on how they scored in this guide.
