Worcester Art Museum Rolls Out Spring Lineup

Wednesdays will be for ages anywhere between 3-17 depending on the class. The classes will last March 20-May 8, 2013, with 7-sessions, 10 am to 11:30 am.
The following classes will be offered: Art Together: Museum Explorers, where Classical and contemporary art will be brought to life in the studio as you create paintings, sculptures, mosaics and more in this fun-filled class; Sculpture for Small Hands, where you will have fun with clay, papier-mâché and recycled materials as you create animals, people and objects; Painting Color and Light, where you can learn fun painting techniques to express yourself and strengthen your observational skills while working directly from objects in the Museum; and Fashion Design, where you can learn to draw fashion figures, create mood boards and expand your confidence in your own wardrobe.
Thursday nights will be for teens only with 7 sessions running from March 21-May 9, 5 pm to 8 pm.
The classes will include; Joy of Painting, where you will find your own creative voice and vision in this class dedicated to the art of painting; digiWAM - Computer Design, where will you Learn how to use Gamemaker to create exciting digital games; Drawing with Color, where you can add a variety of media to your work including pastels, oil pastels and acrylic paint in this intensive drawing class; and 3D Art, where you can expand your mind and artistic repertoire in this creative and challenging out-of-the box sculpture class.
Saturday mornings will hold 7-sessions from March 23- May 11, 10 am to 12.
The classes will include: Art Together: Color my World, where you can enjoy creating paintings, sculptures, mosaics and more in the studio after viewing artwork from around the world; Ready Set Paint, where you learn to mix colors and work with a variety of painting materials; Drawing for Cartoons, where you can develop your own style and work at your own pace to create original comic characters and stories; Drawing/Painting/Sculpture, where visits to the galleries will inspire you to create 2D and 3D masterpieces with tempera paints, watercolors, charcoal, pastels, clay and more; Computer Animation, where you can learn the tricks of the trade to create full storyboards and animated sequences on the computer; Studio Art, where you can explore 2D and 3D materials while building skills and expressing yourself; and Drawing for Teens, where you can learn drawing techniques and work from still-life arrangements, landscapes and clothed figures.
Saturday afternoon classes will be held March 23- May 11 for 7-sessions, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
Classes will include: Explore Our World, where you will produce landscapes, seascapes, portraits and sculptures while learning about world-famous artists; Painting and Drawing, where you can learn how to use paints, pastels and pencils to illustrate what you see. Art Nouns: People/Places/Things, where you can experiment with a variety of materials to create portraits, landscape paintings and sculptures about the people, places and things that are important to you; Artist Journals, where you can Explore the fundamentals of printmaking, drawing and painting as you fill your journal with original art; FUNdamentals of Sculpture, where you work in traditional media such as clay and wood, and explore the possibilities of rubber bands, aluminum foil and much more; and Digital Graphic Novel, where you learn how to letter, color and create the images used in digitally-produced graphic novels.
