Worcester Center for Crafts to Host Architecture Exhibit

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

The Krikorian Gallery of the Worcester Center for Crafts will host an exhibit of vintage and contemporary architectural photographs from October 22nd through November 21st.

The exhibit, Worcester Architecture: Lost & Found will show off historic photographs from the special collections of the Worcester Public Library juxtaposed with contemporary architectural photographs by Thomas Lingner and image of architectural details and street life today by Randle Rae Stock.

"This is an important show. It shows us what we have, and what we have to lose when it comes to the Worcester's outstanding built environment," says organizer Susan Ceccacci, Education Director, Preservation Worcester.

The historical photographs originally appeared in an exhibit called "Worcester Architecture" in 1937 at the Worcester Art Museum and was organized by the "dean" of American architectural historians, Henry- Russell Hitchcock.

The exhibit will open with a reception on Thursday, October 22 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Worcester Center for Crafts and that reception is free and open to the public.

The Krikorian Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
