Worcester Windows Summer 2014

For its summer 2014 exhibition the Worcester Windows Community Gallery Program presents works by Worcester painter Brian Burris and a series of abstract photographs by members of the Worcester Alliance of Photographers.
Worcester Windows is a community gallery program which uses storefronts throughout downtown Worcester as exhibit space to enhance the Citys downtown and to provide display opportunities for local emerging and established artists. Originally intended simply as a means to provide exhibit opportunities, Worcester Windows has grown dramatically, successfully raising the awareness of Worcester as a Creative City by not only bringing artwork to the public and showcasing local talent, but in also establishing itself as a true community gallery through which many of the exhibiting artists have sold works.

Bayda Asbridge-Shifting Mantels
Part of Worcester Windows exhibit
Asbridge is an emerging visual artist who is interested in many genres of art and specifically Asian & Middle Eastern arts due to the simplicity of the line and dot they manifest. Bayda works in the traditional way as well as having liberties in expressing her artistic vision in other mediums such as weaving in the Japanese style (Saori) and/ or using mixed media and collage.Visit her website here.

Brian Burris-Esai
Part of Worcester Windows exhibit
Burris paints in a style known as automatic painting coupled with a technique known as ‘aleatory’, which is governed in part by, or allowed to proceed through, chance which manifests through non-traditional methods of working with acrylic that allow the characteristics of the paint itself to play a considerable role in how the painting develops and comes to completion. On the side, he’s a professional firefighter who also served years as an EMT as well as having been a behavioral specialist prior-to (the basis for his paintings-as-psychological-construct). James Dye-Vision of Nod
Part of Worcester Windows exhibit
Dye is a Massachusetts based artist working in acrylic ink and wash. His tools are a dip pen and brushes. He is a graduate of the Art Institute of Boston where he majored in printmaking and painting. Visit his website here.

Allison Coelho Picone-Manifestation
Part of Worcester Windows exhibit
Picone is an award winning painter who specializes in embracing Nature’s beauty and uplifting properties. Her artwork has received many accolades and awards, including being chosen for exhibitions at Hope Gallery in Bristol, RI, Alta Luna Gallery in Bristol, RI, ArtsWorcester in Worcester, MA, and Unum in Worcester, MA.
