Worcester’s Central Rock Gym Bring Adventure To Fitness

You can’t help but feel exhilarated the moment you walk into Worcester's Central Rock Gym. The welcoming staff and facility give guests the chance to be daring and go beyond the limit. Since opening in 2009, owners Joe and Ed Hardy have experienced great feedback from the Worcester community. The owners’ success led them to opening even more Central Rock Gyms. In a small amount of time the business has expanded greatly. A year and a half ago they started a gym in Hadley, in the spring they opened Watertown, and this month they will open in Glastonbury, CT.

Central Rock Gym is more than just climbing

Visitors are not limited to just rock climbing when they go to Central Rock Gym. They also have treadmills and yoga classes! Throughout the week the gym has special programs for all ages: high school night, ladies night, college night, and family night. Central Rock Gym also offers summer camp programs as well as birthday parties for the youth. “There is a great community here and it grows every month. Surprisingly there is a great mix of boys and girls, adults, students and children” says the manager of the Worcester gym, Joe Bianchi.

The friendly staff at Central Rock Gym helps climbers push themselves to the limit. The visitors create a great community and they help each other reach full potential during their climbing adventure. With 13,000 square feet of climbing area amongst a lead cave, a bouldering area, tons of top-roping, and a beginner climber area there is plenty of space for all levels of climbers.

Don’t miss in September

Central Rock Gym will be renovating the Worcester Gym at the end of August. Don’t miss the reopening of the gym on Saturday September 7th from 12PM-3PM. There will be a cookout for members as well as the public. Lunch is provided for all members and it will cost only $10 for non-members to join the festivities. The gym plans on enhancing the look by repainting the walls and tiling the floors. “It is already a very clean and welcoming facility, but I am excited for the upgrade” Bianchi said. He cannot wait to see the reactions of the members and guests once the gym reopens. “I love it. It is the best job to drop into after school” Bianchi said.
