Worcester’s Doocey Brothers Back from Ireland for Concert this Sunday

David and Patrick Doocey will be performing at the Hibernian Cultural Center on Sunday. This performance marks only the second time the Doocey brothers have performed in Worcester since emigrating from the city to Ireland.

Born in Worcester, the Doocey brothers moved to Foxford, County Mayo when their parents returend home to Ireland. Both brothers are All-Ireland winning multi-instrumentalists.

David Doocey won the first World Fiddle Championship in 2005 and has also achieved success in the much coveted Feile Oriel. His music can be heard on many recordings and he has recorded in Nashville with Grammy award winners Tim O’Brien and Allison Brown. David Doocey has toured throughout Asia, Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand.

Patrick Doocey is predominantly self taught on the guitar and he is becoming one of the most in demand accompanists in the Irish music scene. He has also toured all over Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
