Worcester's Mercantile Center to Host 1st Ever Oktoberfest
Mercantile Center Plaza is set to host their first ever
Oktoberfest for workers and residents of downtown Worcester.
The celebration will take place on Thursday, September 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“We are thrilled to present the downtown Worcester community with a new and exciting after-work event this fall, aimed at attracting a diverse group, enthusiastic about the craft beer trend. And with the variety of activities the event offers, you don’t have to be a beer enthusiast to enjoy the evening,” said Chip Norton, president and founder of Franklin Reality Advisors, developer of the Mercantile Center.
Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest will feature nine local breweries, live music, a beer garden and much more.
The breweries include Exhibit A Brewing Company, Flying Dreams Brewing, Greater Good Imperial Brewing, Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers, Medusa Brewing Company, Moon Hill Brewing Co., Spencer Brewing Co., Wachusett Brewing Company, and Wormtown Brewery.
The Beer Garden will be located in the plaza adjacent to the Mercantile Center garage and will open as the workday ends.
The event will also feature games, including a checker’s tournament, a men’s and women’s stein holding competition, and the “Pretzel Pass.” Attendees interested in participating in the competitions should sign up in advance to secure a spot in the brackets.
Oktoberfest will also feature local restaurants, offering their take on Oktoberfest-themed sampling. Participants include The Dogfather, Home Grown & Co., The Grill Daddy, Talytas Café, The Vegas Nest, and Wicked Twisted Pretzels.
New England groove band, Blue Light Bandits, will entertain the crowd with live music on stage.
