It was an exciting first year for GoLocalTV in Central Mass. So, here are the top-12 video stories from 2012, in case you missed them the first time around.
1. JetWOO?
JetBlue CEO David Barger made a trip to Worcester in late August and declared the city to be "very JetBlue." Though the airline has yet to move into the vacant Worcester Regional Airport, Lt. Gov. Tim Murray and officials from MassPort remain optimistic.
2. Patrick Staying Put
After a trip to the White House, rumors swirled about Gov. Deval Patrick leaving the Commonwealth for a spot in the Obama administration. GoLocalTV caught up with the governor at the DCU Center, and he said he wasn't going anywhere.
3. Top-10 Plays
From bone-jarring hits, to long bombs and electrifying punt returns, the high school football season in Central Mass had it all. Relive all the top plays.
4. Tornadoes Locked Out
It was a tumultuous season for the Worcester Tornadoes, and late August saw the staff locked out of their Main St. offices.
5. Zach Braff at Clark
Elizabeth Warren received plenty of celebrity endorsers, but Scrubs star Zach Braff actually flew from California to rally support for Warren at Clark University.
6.Bobby Orr at Holy Cross
Bobby Orr, one of the most iconic figures in New England sports history, was the keynote speaker at the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce's Breakfast Club. And, our very own Bob Lobel was also on hand.
7. Game of the Year
Shrewsbury drove the length of the field with just minutes left to score the win of the year over Division I power Leominster. Relive the final play that saw quarterback Mike Coggeshall find Ryan Dube in the back of the end zone for the Colonial victory.
8. Our First Debate
GoLocalWorcester held its first ever political debate this fall. This three-way debate for Worcester's 14th pitted Democratic incumbent James O'Day against Republican Bill McCarthy and Independent Winthrop Handy. O'Day would go on to retain the district on November 6th.
9. Warren Steps Up
Questions emerged late in the Massachusetts Senate race about campaign spending. In this video, Elizabeth Warren takes on the question of why she hasn't spent more money with women and minority owned businesses.
10. Canseco Sounds Off
Always good for a sound bite, Jose Canseco made his GoLocalTV debut in early June, and didn't disappoint with comments about how he can't block his "haters" out.
11. Brown Shoots Back
Republican Senator Scott Brown was very low-key at his party's national convention, while challenger Elizabeth Warren took center stage at the DNC. Did that make the difference in the campaign? Well, a month before the election, Brown sure didn't think it would.
12. Acoustic Christmas
WXLO held its 4th Annual Acoustic Christmas Concert in December. Check out this GoLocalTV report to hear from Worcester's rising star Sam James, along with established names like Andy Grammar and Gavin DeGraw.
