1,200 New Englanders to Gather in Boston in Support of Israel Defense Forces

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

About 1,200 people from across New England will get together on Wednesday, November 11th for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces New England Region Annual Dinner at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston.

Attending the dinner will be active duty and former IDF soldiers, including Sgt. Emma, who serves in the IDF's Millitary Police Corps: Staff Sgt Elle, a lone soldier and combat paramedic, who was one of the few female soldiers to enter Gaza during last summer's Operation Protective Edge, Staff Sgt. Sahar and Staff Sgt. Golan will also be in attendance.

“FIDF is committed to supporting the well-being of Israel’s brave men and women in uniform – especially in these trying times. These soldiers defend both Israel and Jews around the world. We are honored to share their stories, to celebrate their service, and to express our appreciation for their sacrifices," said FIDF New England Executive Directo Bruce Mendelsohn.

FIDF New England Board Members Joseph Sieber and Jonathan Leffell will co-chair the dinner while other guests will include Mass. state reps. Steve Howitt and Joseph McKenna as well as RI state rep. Michael Chippendale, among others.

“This dinner has grown over the past decade from just over one hundred attendees to filling the entire Westin Grand Ballroom for the second consecutive year. Our program this year highlights and thanks the soldiers to whom Israel owes it strength," said Sieber, President of Boston-based inscribe, a customized printing firm.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by the dinner and program at 6:45 p.m. All funds raised at this event will go toward FIDF wellbeing and educational programs for IDF soldiers,
