WPD Vice Squad make arrest

Worcester Police arrest a woman for drug dealing from the front seat of her car while her 15-month-old is in the back seat.

Worcester Police Vice Squad officers were doing surveillance in the area of Kingsbury St. At about 11:15 AM, vice squad officers were monitoring the movements of a white Chevy Trail Blazer.

According to Worcester Police, they observed the vehicle's driver and passenger, Erika Santiago, thirty-six-years-old of Spencer, and Abisai Perez, 30-years-old of 9 May St #206 in Worcester, stop at an address and make hand-to-hand transactions with a resident on Kingsbury St.

After witnessing the transaction and determining that a drug deal had been made, officers stopped the vehicle on King St. A search of the vehicle revealed eleven bags of a brown powder believed to be heroin. In addition, Ms. Santiago’s 15-month-old baby daughter was in the back seat. Ms. Santiago and Mr. Perez were placed under arrest and charged with Distribution of a Class A Substance and Possession of a Class A Substance with intent to Distribute. They will be arraigned in Worcester District Court. A family friend picked up the child, and DCF was notified.
