18-Year-Old Boy Shot While Running From Group of Men in Worcester

His injury is not expected to be life-threatening.
The investigation is still active as Detectives are attempting to determine the exact nature of the incident and identify the suspects.
The Incident
On Saturday, December 10, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Worcester Police responded to an address on Wall Street for a report of a man who had been shot. Upon arrival, police spoke with an 18-year-old boy who had been shot once in his ankle.
The initial investigation showed that the kid was walking out of an apartment building located at 327 Plantation Street when he heard several people running up from behind him. The victim said that as soon as he realized the men were running at him, he began to run away. As he ran, the men started shooting at him, hitting him once in the ankle. The victim said that no words were exchanged between him and the suspects. The victim was unable to provide a description of the suspects.
After being shot, the boy was able to get into his car and drive to a nearby friend’s house, at which time he called the police. The victim was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
Worcester Police Detectives arrived on scene to speak with the victim and any potential witnesses. Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit also responded to process the scene.
