35-Year-Old Worcester Man Suffers Serious Injuries After Crash in Plymouth

According to the Massachusetts State Police, around 7:30 PM the Worcester man was traveling on Route 44 West in a 2005 Toyota Highlander when his vehicle entered the median at a high rate of speed, struck a large sign post, and rolled over multiple times before landing in the median. The vehicle then caught fire and several passers-by were able to extricate the man from the vehicle and away from the wreckage. The vehicle then became completely engulfed.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. Route 44 East is closed until the sign post is repaired. The operator of the vehicle has not yet been identified.
State Police were assisted on scene by Plymouth and Kingston Fire and EMS, Plymouth and Kingston Police, and Mass Highway. No further information is available at this time.
