44-Year-Old Man Shot Multiple Times After Altercation on Green St in Worcester

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

As the bars were closing on Green Street early Sunday morning, four men were involved in an altercation that led to one victim being shot several times.

According to Worcester Police, officers responded to a Shotspotter activation alert near 58 Green Street. When they arrived, officers found a 44-year-old male shooting victim sitting in a car. Although the victim had been shot several times, he was conscious and alert and is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive from his wounds.

An initial investigation by WPD revealed that the shooting occurred behind G-Bar, on the Winter Street side. Witnesses told police that two males approached the victim and another man. Shots were fired following a verbal argument. The second male with the victim was unhurt.

WPD has limited suspect information at this time other than the two males were possibly Hispanic, with one older than the other.

This investigation is ongoing, if anyone has information about this incident they can send an anonymous text to 274637 TIPWPD + your message or send an anonymous web based message at worcesterma.gov/police. Calls can also be made to the Worcester Police Detective Bureau at (508) 799-8651.
