7-Year-Old Hit By Car in Worcester While Trying to Get on School Bus

The boy was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and is expected to be released from the hospital later today.
According to the Worcester Police Department, the operator of the vehicle that hit the boy was a 37-year-old male from Worcester.
WPD’s Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident to determine whether or not the bus driver activated the flashing safety lights and released the traffic stop sign.
WPD has determined that the boy was waiting for the bus in his parents vehicle parked across the street from the bus stop. The boy got out of the car and attempted to run across the street to the bus when the bus pulled up.
The boy was struck by a Dodge Charger in the northbound lane.
The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released as more information becomes available.
