For 2nd Time in Two Weeks, Mob Stabs Man in Worcester

For the second time in about two weeks, a mob of men confronted and attacked a man in Worcester. This time it resulted in a man being stabbed in the abdomen. 

Worcester Police are in search of a suspect who was described by the victim as being Hispanic, early twenties, approximately 5’7” tall, thin build and having his hair in a ponytail.

Previous Incident

Earlier this month, GoLocal reported that a group of approximately 20 individuals attacked and stabbed a 33-year-old Worcester man in the area of Oread Street.

The victim could not provide a description of any of the suspects and refused to provide additional information.

Most Recent Incident

A Worcester police officer responded to a Heywood Street home for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the 54-year-old man. According to Worcester Police,  the victim said that he was walking on Cutler Street with his adult son and two women when they were confronted by an unknown group of 10 to 15 men.

The victim said that words were exchanged between him and another man in the group. The victim believed that he was going to engage in a fight with just fists. As the fight escalated the victim was stabbed in the abdomen. The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing.

The suspect was described as being Hispanic, early twenties, approximately 5’7” tall, thin build and having hair in a ponytail.

After speaking with the victim the officer called for an ambulance and had him transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The injury is non-life threatening. A member of the WPD Detective Bureau went to the hospital and interviewed the victim.
