video: Is Worcester the Epicenter in the Battle Between Clinton and Sanders in MA
Monday, February 29, 2016
Certainly, the Clinton campaign believes that Worcester is critical. This past weekend Congressman Jim McGovern and his staff lead a pro-Clinton canvass. Then, the Clinton campaign announced that former President Bill Clinton would be holding an event in Worcester on Monday evening and Clinton is bringing U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey.
Polls Show Clinton with a Slim Lead
Real Clear Politics, which tracks all of the primary polling results finds that Clinton has only a 1.5% lead between the four polls taken in Massachusetts in February.
The most recently reported poll Suffolk University which released its results this weekend gave Clinton an 8% point lead.
Clinton comes into Super Tuesday and the Massachusetts primary off a huge win in South Carolina. Prior to that Sanders has nearly beat Clinton in Iowa and Nevada caucuses and had crushed Clinton in the New Hampshire primary.

Today, former President Bill Clinton will return to Massachusetts to hold a late night event to get out the vote for Hillary Clinton ahead of Tuesday’s primary. According to the Clinton campaign, “He (Clinton) will hold the public event in Worcester where he will lay out Hillary Clinton’s plans to raise wages and break down the barriers that hold too many Bay Staters back. Just hours ahead of the Massachusetts primary, the stakes for families couldn’t be higher.”
The event is free and open to the public.
Sanders has been active in Worcester for months. Sanders opened a Park Avenue headquarters, held a rally at North High School with a tremendous crowd (while the colleges were on break), and hit the region
On January 2nd Sanders came to Worcester and visited North High School. Sanders has handily beaten Clinton in both of the caucuses and both primaries with voters under 30 years of age.
With just hours until the Massachusetts Democratic primary, U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and Congressman Jim McGovern will campaign and lead Get Out the Vote efforts for Hillary Clinton in Worcester on Monday, February 29. According to the campaign, Booker will meet with supporters, students, and community members, "Booker will highlight Clinton's plans to break down the barriers that hold Bay Staters back, her dedication to building on President Obama's progress, and her commitment to making college affordable and addressing gun violence."
Clearly based on the description of both the Bill Clinton and the Cory Booker events will highlight Clinton's plans to break down the barriers that hold Bay Staters back.
